I am eye balling Balfour beatty, I am thinking, increasing/recovery in construction, also just about everythink this company is involved should benefit, (http://www.balfourbeatty.com/bby/markets/)

the technicals also look good ( I think), it made a higher low, and has broke through some MA, so is my analysis correct?, I am a newbie

Chart.aspx

looks to be at a res now
check to see if its outperforming the ftse 100 index
that is usually a good sign
a relaive strength chart against the ftse 100

I do not understand regarding your second post with bullish chart, it's moving up but what other than that suggests its bullish, Im new to technical analysis charting, also why would I do a BBY vs a FTSE 100?

Thanks for responding so fast though

a better veiw.this is a one box reversal chart
daily data.box size is 4 p
you can see the res area quite clearly
the oyherlies are support areas.stop should be one box under the support area, which ever one you choose.the chart on the right is a relative strength against the ftse 100 index.the stock is not yet outperforming the index.once it breaks res, then maybe it could
hope this helps.
do u have a time target for the trade..??

Ok your first chart was helpful, I did not understand the right one ( I use lines) but i compared the graphs of the bby and ftse 100 and I can see they seem to go up and down in similar places. But why should I compare the RSI of both?

Also I have time period of about 3-6 months, longer if it's trending.

I didn't look in much detail, they seemed fairly good from what I saw and seeing as they've been out for a few days and they haven't dived on it, the market would appear to think they're ok too. Just always something to be aware of with equities about any announcements/results/trading statements that may be due or released.

They have taken over quite a few small companies so I would hope they pay off, but I bet PPP is completly ****ef when the conservatives get in power, we have cuts for 5 years under either govt, so I'll investigate their PPP exoposure further could be disastrous.

Thanks :), I am only 17, so once I get my self out of my value stock, or I make a grand in the summer holiday, i'll probably do some technical analysis+fundamental at university. I will study Economics @ York. But back to revision for me now....... eugh

Why would you use the RSI in a trending stock?
