I'm watching a stock, WEDC, on the NASDQ. Yesterday it bounced around from $4.10-$4.50 USD. Then at the close last eve, it's bid was reported as $2.14 and the ask at $6.16 USD. It reported that the bid and ask were via the CBOE.

I'm just a beginner in this game but I have no clue what this all means. I've checked several different quote services to make sure they were all consistent with this info and they are.

Can someone please tell me what this means and why it is this way? Thanks so much in advance.

Sounds to me without checking that those are after-market prices..
basically after the market officaly closes at 16:00 there are after market hours trading when prices spreade wildely( because of the lack volume and liquidety)
Also 2 hours before opening you have the pre market, In the premarket changes in the prices for the PCL(Previous Close Price) are refelected in gaps up/down in a share, Etf price.

Hope this helps

Its because of the lack of liquitiy during those hours. It is very dangerous to trade in the after hours unless you are very experienced. I learned my lesson very quickly.
