High Volume US Stocks

Hello Everyone

Iv predominately been trading futures and have been relatively successful at it. Im thinking about broadening my options and looking at trading US stocks.
How does one go about finding the Top 50 or Top 100 Stocks with the highest average daily volume? Are there any sites available which gives this information?

Im sure you can tell, I am quite a newbie when it comes to Stocks, so any info you guys can provide would extremely helpful.

ONLY HIGH VOLUME STOCKS ? you need other filters to short list suitable candidates . such as high ATR , Low spread, Midcap , high volume ..You also need to ignore those stocks that trade within a narrow range such as QQQQ, CSCO ,MSFT,DELL as the program traders are at work with these stocks and traders donot have a chance ....

Hi Faris,

I use the Intelliscanner from Realitytrader.com. It is a very easy to use scanner. They already have four predefined quality scanners. You can also build your own scanner, if you like. I think they have a two week trial.

USA Today Newspaper (the online edition) has had a great free screener for years

http://markets.usatoday.com/custom/usatoday-com/html-mktscreener.asp this link will show the top 50 results (most active) for NASDAQ

and here is your listed NYSE top 50

keep in mind that if you go here during market hours you will get 20 minute delayed data up til that time

you can also run custom screens

this is my all time favorite free screener

me thinks it depends upon your strategy whether you have a chance or not ... true enough some styles avoid these and others thrive on them

Hello Everyone,

I use ProRealTime scanner, very simple and reliable. It searchs for anormal volume within the last 5 days, gives you the volume rate and everything so I save lot of time when I just looking for this kind of shares.

It has many options, you may detect engulfing patterns, spreads or whatever, useful.
