Naz vs Mr Charts (Alan Rich/Richard Joyson)

Hi All,

I am looking at expanding my horizons into trading US stocks and was looking for a good training program.

From what I can see the two more experienced traders seem to be Mr Charts and Naz. I have been on their websites and both seem to offer a good service which is almost identical but for the price.

So my question is does anyone have any experience with both or either of them? If you do would you be so kind as to let me know your thoughts. Are they any good and if so which would you recommend?

I am not interested in a mud slinging match so please only respond if you have something constructive.

Whether positive or negative would you mind explaining why?

Hi, I have been on a day course with Alan Rich. I think if you are a beginner you should save your money and look elsewhere. Everything he showed me was stuff you could learn for free on the net really. Also seemed to spend more time going for out for cups of coffee than actually sat at a pc learning anything! If he is still charging £600 then i wouldnt bother. And i also bought his £350 colour chart software. Which has to be used with tradestation. It was all an expensive mistake but you live and learn! Put me off trading for a couple of years haha

I am currently using Piptastic which is quite good and i learnt more from the £20 cd than the Alan Rich course!! But at the end of the day whichever way you go it's pretty tough and takes so much effort and discipline.

Are you new to trading?

The colour charts were no more than heiken ashi candles and a moving average. I recreated it in tradestation, and no it doesn't work like he claims.

I've had training with both of them but if it's US stocks you are considering I think
you would be better off with Richard. Richard's training is pretty comprehensive with
pre-meeting literature and a down to earth attitude on the day.

I don't trade his style any more because it didn't suit me, scanning hundreds of
stocks for setups and getting in and out in minutes was too frantic for me personally,
at the end of the day it felt like I'd been 12 rounds with Mike Tyson. Also bear in mind
US day trading rules because in my oppinion to spread bet this style is not feasible, you
will need to deposit around $25,000 and satisfy a few other criterias.

Here's the thing, the problem with training is your never going to know whether that
style will fit your personality or prefered trading style untill you've done it. When I did
the rounds on the training front my attitude was to pick up as much info as possible.
I spent around £3k on training and then decided how I wanted to trade, just because
I didn't trade exactly how they traded didn't mean it was wasted money, it all added
to mix and helped me on my way.

You can give the exact same training to 10 people and maybe only a couple of them
will go on to be successful trading in the exact same way. That doesn't really tell the
whole story as you would need to ask the individuals whether that training helped
overall and was value for money, for me that answer is 'yes'.

I'd go for Mr C personally.

hows the floods? is it really bad as it seems on the news?

Actually - I hadn't considered that - maybe it IS me... karmic payback for my evil vendorship....

He did have some indicator on his site and I asked him for a trial. I was actually taking the p1ss but he didn't realise it. Nobody gives trial copies of magic indicators away for obvious reasons.

As for the floods - I left town. Back in Bangkok, there's shortages of food & water in the supermarkets. It looks pretty grim but I guess it might be OK. Still - I err on the side of caution so I got out at the end of last week. I am hoping our new house isn't too badly damaged.

Here's an interesting pic - the blue area is the flood water. It all has to get to the Gulf of Thailand and Bangkok is smack in the way. To give an idea of scale, the drive from Bangkok to Chai Nat is 195 km approximately...
