Help needed!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have recently opened an account with IB Brokers and cant suss outhow to use the dam thing. I thought i could buy stocks over the phone, but they say its an online service only.

I dont have a clue about other brokers, but what i'd like to do is buy US Stocks over the phone, preferably using a free phone number. Also low fees and also taking into consideration i live in the UK.

Does anyone know of such a broker cause i would be so grateful if you could help.

Cheers,

L33.

If you are a position trader or holding for 1 or 2 days.use one of the spreadbett firms. No commission no tax to pay, and most got free 0800 numbers.

Ask around who got the best spreads. For US shares.

Do they not have a helpline that someone could talk you through their trading platform?

Every time i talk to some one there, English seems to be there second language, so there is a communucation problem sometimes.

But the main thing i want is to be able to buy a stock when i am away from home, ie over the phone. I'd prefer it to be a UK based company, with low commission if that is possible. Someone on this thread has recomended ETRADE so i was going to call them in the morning.

IB's customer support is notorious, I wish you luck.

I've just signed up for rushtrade a relatively new direct access broker with good Barrons ratings. Very satisfied with the service so far and a strightforward order entry bar.
Have a look.

call Schwab, they have an office in London that ONLY trades US stocks (online navigation is real easy and very resonable commish)....i think the number is 0207638 3399

Good luck (I use them and they are great!)
