IGIndex Problems

Hi guys,

I am having trouble with Igindex in volatile markets as my orders dont get filled promptly and in several instances when i tried to close my trades an opposite trade has been initiated instead of closing it. Are there any other firms that you suggest?

All spreadbetting firms come in for some stick from unhappy clients. Finspreads is no exception although I have been with them for years. Sometimes I get a box saying "Price has moved on" etc and I try again. As often as not I get a better price or I change my mind.

It doesn't cost much to try them out, in any case, and I see that they are offering new clients 75 quid.

There have been lots of threads started about spreradbetting companies but I have not had any problems before with IGIndex. Most of my trades are on the longer timeframes so maybe volatility does not pose as much of a problem. I have never had any issues with closing a trade and another one opening. I do know that if you have a Buy trade running it will not be closed with a Sell if you use the 'Order to open' option. You must either use a stop or limit or you must open the actual trade and click buy/sell to close it.

I see your profile shows South Africa. I am from SA but living in the UK at the moment so I am using IG in the UK. Are you trading from SA with a UK IGIndex account? Maybe Internet speed is causing some of your issues?

If you are in SA I would be interested to know as i may be going back at some stage and will need to find out what the best options are for spreadbetting out of SA.
