Maximum Bet sizes on IG Index

Hi, can anyone tell me the maximum size of bets you can place on IG Index to trade Forex - assuming you have enough on deposit to cover the bet? Thanks..

They have a nominal cap at £250 per., But when they know you the skies the limit.

How do you mean when they know you ?

Only that the first time I placed a bet over 250per, I received a 'phone call to verify I was the a/c holder. It happened twice more, than no problem

I see. Thanks. So it seems that bet sizes can get pretty big. At those levels you only need a few pips (in your favour) to gain good profits..

Well said simcon,
Never forget that whatever others want to dress it up as, spreadbetting is just that...its not trading.

Like anyother form of gambling it can develope into a serious illness. Make sure you gamble ONLY with money you can afford to do without.

Having said that...its all in your style of execution, & the indicators you use.
KEEP IT SIMPLE, & KEEP IT LEAN.

Of course spreadbetting IS trading. It's exactly the same as using a broker but without paying tax on your earnings. Why do you suggest it's any different?
