I agree, it's good advice to open more than one account as they are good for different things.
For example, InterTrader arguably has the best opening offers so why not start with them. Then move on to someone like Capital Spreads who are probably a little bit more competitive on the spreads.

i would suggest downloading the demo platform from FX Pro if your going to be using technical analysis to base your trading decsions on.
They provide a good a data feed for all the major fx pairs, indicies, commodities, stocks etc. Although fxpro do not directly provide spreadbetting accounts i know many traders who open a demo account with these guys and then place there trades with a spread betting broker elsewhere.
