Before I start, let me just say that I have closed a profitable trade in the last hour, so I am not a bitter investor trying to blame my broker.
Also, I am a passive reader of t2w, so it's taken an interesting experience for me to make my first post.
Anyway, here is my little story.
Today I closed a profitable trade on IG's Puredeal platform at 10.38.
Fine so far.
Then a few minutes later I noticed my charts were not updating.
Odd.
The markets I had been trading all morning stopped feeding at 10.39, ie just air after the 10.39 bar, chart freeze if you like. This was true in the basic Puredeal charts as well as the advanced Tools charts. The thing that puzzled me was that this wasn't a platform issue, as I could see up-to-date charts on other instruments.
In other words, only the feed to charts of instruments I was trading had been stopped.
How could this happen? It would be an incredible co-incidence if only they were affected.
Then I noticed one of the markets I traded had been removed from my Watchlist.
And further, it could not be added again as it was now missing from it's normal place in the Search list.
So I have no charts and no way to open a position in just one or two markets, the rest all fine.
I am making no statements or assumptions, I will leave it to you to make your own mind up what might be happening. Although I will say I have heard of stories of accounts at some brokers being 'reviewed' during / after profitable trades - and the above experience seems consistent with that - I feel I have been restricted in some way.
This may just be a huge co-incidence.
