Ransquawk Retail Croaked? (IG Index)

I notice that Ransquawk is no longer an option on the igindex 'Tools' menu.

Although my (independent of IG Index) ransquawk.com account for the free 30 sec delayed retail channel still logs-in, all I get is silence there as well for the past 2 days.

Anybody know if this a permanent loss or just tech problems?

I am having the same problem, IG tell me there have been Tech problems and will not put it back up until they sort out the issues. I have a login in with Ransquawk and that doesn't work either. Will let you know if I get anymore info.
 
Hi peeeps

Had the head honcho from IG kindly ring me just now, after I emailed the head man at pipsqueak.

Seems there is a difference of opinion (as one might expect) from the 2 sides on issue and resolution.

Reliability issues from one side and 'contribution to costs' from the other appear to be the contention points. Meeting arranged for next week to see if something can be hammered out.

Watch this space.

Yes this is what I got from ransquawk guys, looks like anyone that uses it needs to complain to IG, after all it is about the only decent thing IG provide unless you want yesterdays news

"IG pulled their link as they were not willing to help support it with
contributions toward bandwidth costs and they stated that "not many IG
customers" use the link. This has also impacted our own player.

I have had calls from many IG customers today complaining that the
player is not working.

I would suggest you go directly to IG to put pressure on them to get the
link back.

If the link is not put back it will take around 2-4 weeks for us to get
the free player back up and running on our own site as it runs directly
from the IG link."
 
I had also called Friday to Ransquawk who told me of the contribution problem and IG's response was as mentioned above to do with only a few people using the service.

Please can you all email IG about this, after all they are a very successful group financially and their platform in my opinion is second to none.

In the mean time is there any realtime or nearly realtime alternative like a rolling news headline system like IG used to have about a year or so ago, using this used to give most economic news within 1 minute but it is good to hear what the major voices in the financial world are saying and also the rumours are worth listening to (sometimes).

The Ransquawk commentary is very handy on short term index or binary betting, lets put some pressure on IG please fellow betters/traders, Thanks

i used to listen to ransquawk but reception became intermittent [like an hour or so missing at a time] bloomberg radio works for me.

Is Bloomberg Radio available via internet as I am nearly always travelling through different countries and need a commentary like this (Bloomberg TV not always available at hotels/motels)

Also is their economic data provided as on Ransquawk (30 seconds after release of data) ?
 
Good News Ransquawk Fans,

Just had reply from IG and they are looking to resume the Ransquawk service from hopefully tomorrow afternoon !

Yep it's back and stable for now.

That would be enough to cheer me up if only I hadn't put money into Icesave.

I had put proceeds from selling my house last December into Icesave, but pulled it out in February when first Iceland rumours started appearing. Now have spread my dosh between NR Offshore and Citibank and Wachovia CD's in the USA. (FULLY INSURED NOW)

Reason why top 3 Icelandic banks went down was they all cross-invested in each other just like the Split-Capital Investment Trusts in Britain about 8 years ago, One folds - they all follow.

I am glad everyone's money is safe though, I wish they would raise the holding limit on Premium Bonds though!

as for data they give a better idea of the intraday mood/direction imo. i don't trade the news so immediate numbers are irrelevant to me.
 
Is it just me who isn't hearing anything on Ransquawk? Link is there and works, but nothing is happening.

OK, I can now hear the initial introduction recording, but then I am hearing nothing, and I can't believe there's no news right now?
