FTSE100 Daily IG Index

Hello All ,

Im newish to trading , so quick one im watching the FTSE100 Daily on Ig Index and its still moving after 1630 i understand the markets still trade a small bit after ,but for how long ??

is the FTSE 100 Daily the closest thing you can trade to the undelying markets?

The FTSE 100 Daily Cash market will settle at around 4.37pm since there is a short auction period after the official close time of 4.30pm.

Becareful in this time that you are not betting against tomorrows close and not todays. Always check the determination date.

Perhaps you should change you handle to 'fiatpanda' until you have more experience!

On IG the FTSE is also a 24hr market albeit with wider spreads out of hours. Last night saw a 50 pnt drop from the close. You need to factor these movements in if you want to hold positions overnight.

So don't expect to be able to open a trade at yesterdays close at tomorrows open.
