I just saw on TV theirs now only going to be Only 18% Flat Capital Gains Tax?, why spreadbet?

Or have I got this wrong :?:

But the SB bookies are including the tax in the spread, so its not really tax free, just no messing about with your winnings with the tax man.

For the hassle the SB bookies puts one through, wouldn't cfd's be a better option?

I know the cdf vs sb has been beaten to death, so don't really want to go their, but if its only 18% and your spread is fixed, that looks better to me.

btw, is the 18% flat cgt even real or just some political sound bite?

Isn't the betting tax only 9% ?

Of course, it will depend on whether the increase in spreads with the SB is a realistic reflection of the figure.
