When opening an account with Igindex they let you play with stakes below £1 for the first 6 weeks under their lerners scheme.
What If I close my account and reopen it a week later, would they allow me to play with lower stakes for another 6weeks, if i close my account, they won’t remember me will they? Is it possible to do this?

You must be joking ? Do you really think that they will not keep records of you and that when you re-apply they wont see this ?

hmm, i did check out IG's pro charts from IT, with the ability to programme the charts complete with backtesting..... (check out as in notice it as , might be interesting , anyone have any feedback re the PRO CHARTS ?)
although I did note that the tick charts from IT pro charts are actually 1 second charts and not actually tick (price /minus ,absent of time element charts) but its a step ?

What I mean is, I did feel aroused by it all....... anyone else feel this sensation with IG of late ?

I notice the spot FX stop minimum is now 40 points (close to news announcement).

I also note that the minimum £1 bet for FTSE 100 daily bet has been increased to £2...or is that just for me?!

Sorry, can you explain what feature you refer?

Hello, first time I have had a look at IG in a couple years and noticed they offer charts that enable you to programme systems etc, I downlaoded the PDF instructions, but not had chance to look at it. So not sure how easy the language is or what it is. But It seems like a big change since I last looked at them.

Comes under advanced charting from IT Pro finance charts. Maybe this is industry standard now ?

Maybe over next few months I'll have a deeper look at what can cant be done with them. Or maybe someone else with experience of working with them can state what they can and cant do with them at this stage... ??

At best I managed to make it give me crossover signals via another indicator chart at the bottom. I am not very good at programming it, though. It doesn't seem to make sense to me.

Can't seem to find the code I wrote, though.

Charts

While your discussing IG I wondered if anyone new what happened here - the top chart is the EUR/USD Spot and the Below is the Future, On the 2nd Dec (Sunday) there is a large candle - Just wondered why this might occur? if you were short - you wouldn’t be anymore...

Cheers

Sounds like we went to the same programming school then. :) Do you know if you can auto trade using them ? Will it push orders through, or manual execution ?

looks like a data error, we get tokyo and aussie opening up sunday /evening UK time so its not unreasonable to see the prices move. But 600 pips on the euro seems off, phone call and a refund or put back in position is the least they should do. If anyone was stopped out.

Happens from time to time with most platforms, usually infrequent.

Sometimes you can get whats called "Blow Off Volume " - which is basically a very high volume session occurring "SUDDENLY" in an uptrend - usually signalling the end of the trend.
Candles have been known to go crazy when this happens sometimes - (y)

It won't. I checked with them on this... because I was buggering around blindly with it and suddenly worried that it might automatically open a position randomly.

Backtesting allows you to set up fake buys and sells to determine if a strategy would have made money or not.

Cheers for that...

I think this could be the case = as CMC has similar candle

The Pro Charts seem verygood.
Has anyone managed to programme them yet? I want to back test the 'turtles' system on them and see if they work out.
Looks a bit hard to programme them though?
Any help appreciated

Unfortunately nothing that complex - I've managed to programme a few basic moving average/momentum indicator based strategies in, and I'm sure it can be done, but for that you'll probably have to delve into the code rather than just using the wizard-style builder.
