Is anybody on this forum trading with www.spreadfair.com (a division of Cantor Index) on the FTSE and the Dow indices? I found the concept of a spread betting Exchange really interesting. There might be a liquidity problem to start with (as the client base grows) and it would be useful to see in the order depth, number of bets as well. Also there is a question concerning stop loss order, an opposite limit order will have to be placed in order to act as a stop loss order. The spread especially on the Dow seems to be really good, and one can place an order within the spread itself. It is a variable spread (like DMA)and a variable commission rate table (little bit too high maybe) depending on how many trades one makes, but only on winning trades. One trade against each other, so there is no concern of intervention by a dealer or any other tricks played by a Market Maker. This model might be very suitable for a few standard financial instruments. What do you think, you guys, is this concept a blueprint, and the solution to a fair spread betting service?
