Hi,

I'm looking for a Spead Bet firm with the lowest minimum bet (ie. 10p / 50p) per point.
I wish to Trade the Dow Index cash market.

Thanks to anyone who can direct me somewhere.

Regards
Steve

I believe the lowest is Finspreads - 50p per point - though I'm not certain.

Cheers,

PS - you are naughty Soc, but I like you too ;)

Don't worry about Socrates, he's a snob. I've traded at 50p, at one stage, and it is far better to lose 50p than £50 when you are starting off.

Hi ste

the blades is correct in 50p being the lowest but if you sign up to finspreads trading academy you can get it down to 1p / point for 8 weeks and you can fund the account with only 100 quid. not bad for beginners really is it :) you dont have to lose your shirt to learn you see ;)

Hi blades you doing ok.

Hi Ste

If you want to trade an index, the highly liquid EuroStoxx50 maybe better for you to trade as a newbie (like me).

Well thank you everybody :D and thanks Lightning McQueen for the Finspreads training advice, I like the idea of being able to start with £100. 8 weeks will do me fine.

The reason I want to trade the Dow, is to try out the Dowstomper signals, I just want something simple to make a few quid from - I'm not really looking to trade full time. I did study Forex and charting for quite a while, but things didn't pan out (finances, family ill health etc)

BTW, has anyone used the Dowstomper? Couldn't be simpler from what I can see, but I have one question - they say to use a 1% stoploss based on the index price.... yeah, no problem, but, the website gives a different figure as the stop :?: :?: :?:

i.e. The index price at entry is say: 12,742. Therefore if going long stop would be 127.42 points away. (1%) = 12,615
But, Dowstomper site states stop is 12,524... thats 91 points different.???

I've tried to email them about this, but no reply.

Cheers again to all for your help.

Can't comment on "stomper" but you might want to try

http://www.signalwatch.com/markets/markets-dow.asp

for another perspective ?

STE

I think they use 1% SL at the close.

With other words, they check the DOW few minutes before the close and if it moved 1% or more from the entry they close the trade.

I hope that helps.

Very funny SOCS...Missed this post of yours...I have lost more on one trade than you made in a month. I feel tension with you. Its not my fault you made bad trading decisions with your option trades..You should have followed my thread. You would have made a lot of money on my live YM calls...

Ho dear I found out you have been banned its not going you way over the last month is it, I did warn you about you symbol under you name "the all seeing eye." Consume you it will..
