Hi.

Is it still possible to trade with cmc via their web based platform anymore, so that i will be able to trade whilst im at work, without having to install the MM software on the pc's at work?
I used to use www.deal4freelite.com but if i try that now, the login box just sits there and never prompts me to input my a/c details...?.....

cheers.

yes it is still possible but u need a fix on the pc your using, something to do with microsoft, give them a ring and they will send you the email explaining what to do

I tried the web based interface last year at work and never managed to get it to work. Luckily I was quite good friends with the network security manager and we found that the platform uses particular ports to communicate with it's servers, unfortunately it doesn't use port 80 (http) it was something like 1089 (dont quote me on that) which was blocked by the company firewall/proxy, even after opening this port it didn't work and after many many calls to the CMC helpdesk the problem remained unresolved.

The work around I used was to use Webex which enabled me to remote control my home PC over a web browser using HTTPS. The only problem I found was the lag when mouse clicking and typing could be quite bad. Might be a solution worth looking at. IIRC Webex we're offering a free trial at the time.
