Great New Live Intraday Price Charts -IG Index

From today (Monday 7th Feb) IG's dealing platform now includes NEW IMPROVED LIVE CHARTING, courtesy of it-finance.com. This is available for ALL instruments and contacts.

In place of the old basic tick charts (live) comes a complete package offering TICK and 1min, 3 min, 5 min, 10-min, 15-min, 30-min and 1 hour LIVE charts.

One can plot the full gamut of techncial indicators, draw trendlines, channel-lines , multiple moving averages, fibbonacci levels,etc. Plus the facility to save and build charting/analysis to your system, and call them up at a later date.

As IG is my MAIN trading facility, this is a most welcome addtion to the package.

Anybody using these? Further comments?

I don't use IG much but have just checked and I don't seem to have any new charts.

The new charts are the TICk charts that you call up when you click on a contract (any contract) on the 'live prices/my prices' section.

Click on a contract and you get a small menu of 2 or 3 options (choices). Choose 'TICK CHART' and a pop-up window will appear containing the live tick/intraday chart of the contract you have chosen.

An improvement on the old tick charts and I might use them for the UK markets, as I only have live charts for US and forex. They still look a bit strange, as the spread bet prices seem to fluctuate too much (probably to just hit all the stops )

I am already finding the new live charting uselful for my commodity trading and position monitoring.

I have previously been using Barchart/Futuresource free DELAYED intraday charts (30-mins delayed). I am a swing/position trader, so it is not REALLY vital for me to have live running charts, but anything that aids the accuracy and timing of entry/exit has got to be a boon.

IMHO.
