As competition in spread betting industry is intensifying I thought spread betting companies would be jumping over each other offering new promotions and competitions.
So far I can't find any new competitions, I liked the one run by WS... Has anybody noticed any new promotions?

The most conspicuous one must be CMC's incredibly generous £0 next gen account opening offer, where they give you precisely zilch, with absolutely no catch.

They did offer risk-free trading in June (Trading IQ) for one day only on GBPUSD, Gold and UK100, which I took advantage of.

I think we should have a thread running where members can post latest promotions and competitions from spread betting companies.

Ross, £0 offer sounds like a great deal... but I'll pass on it... LOL

As far as I know, Tradefair's opening £100 top-up offer is still open (subject to certain conditions, naturally).

Watch out for occasional offers on CS.

Can't remember if SML were offering cash. They have a couple of USPs and are worth a look in any case.

Smart Live Markets were offering up to £300 to cover the net loss in the first month.

Heavy sarcasm aimed at CMC I notice.

Why not listen to what Peter Cruddas has to say?
I think he has a good point about promotional gimmicks.

Do you want your SB broker to compete on gimmicks or on having a good platform with fair execution? Gimmick are for punters. Aren't we aiming to be professionals?

I do listen to what PC has to say, and am impressed that he continues to put a lot of time into the CMC thread when he could easily get one of his minions to do it instead. IMO, giving new clients a few quid of margin is just a cost-effective way of promoting the new platform (particularly to those who gave up on the old one), not a gimmick.

Zero spreads is a gimmick!

i think this offer was the best spread betting offer in history for the slightly richer
you could deposit up to £60000 and walk away with £2700 profit guaranteed (4.5%) in 60 days (all you had to do was 300 trades of dax which £1 a point is equivalent to $10000 notional value a trade) multiply that by 300 is give or take £300 (as there is 1 point spread on dax)

here was the terms and conditions http://www.iii.co.uk/imtrader/offer...k=landingpage_novoffer_box1_terms&cp_c=jct8kq.

I know someone who first did this offer with gft before they change their t&c's and then got the offer again with interactive markets who hadn't updated their t&c's (as interactive markets is a sister of gft making £5400 easy cash in 4 months

lol

Spreadex has a 'refund of losses' offer, but by the look of it they probably need to reduce their spreads to get in line with the opposition.

They also charge £2 per point to rollover Wall Street Daily for example. Unlike the competition which is cheaper, this is a fixed amount and is not based on LIBOR rates.

the gft offer looks good but only if you are putting a sizeable amount as deposit down - anything over £6500 they will match 5% of it up to £60 000!

im only a novice so have started with a smaller deposit, but providers like tradefair will match a deposit up to £100, finnspreads £100 credit, capital spreads £100 cash top up, twowayspreads give £250 cash back on net losses on a min £500 deposit, option xp gives a 30% bonus on first deposits up to $1500.

theyre all so competitive, but i think it still comes down to how good the spreads are, otherwise youre basically giving them back the money in spread anyway??
