Accounting Tutor Wanted

:idea: I am a private investor based in Harrogate, North Yorkshire.

I am searching for a tutor to teach me how to forensically dissect an annual report - looking at discounted cash flow, etc.

I will pay an hourly rate, to be agreed, and I can travel to the Leeds or York area.

Rather than pay expensive fees for private tuition why not check out some books aimed at providing information on those particular topics.

Although i haven't read this particular book the FT Fuide to Using And Interpretaing Company Accounts (FT Prentice -Hall 1998) may be of use. Available from www.global-investor.com.

For any cynics out there i''m not advertising the book or site - just trying to help.

Hi Simon - are you interested in the analysis and interpretation of accounts for the purposes of identifying under-valued companies? or even those that are in good shape and should see future growth?

If so I would whole-heartedly recommend either of the 'Zulu Principle' books by Jim Slater. They go through the analysis of accounts step by step and excellently written.
