Downloader is part of the full Metastock package - it is used not only to download data from Reuters (and, presumably, Paritech) but to edit and look at data, convert text formats to Metastock, and so on. I think you'll find that any 1 year limit imposed by Paritech is probably talking about the data supply, not the downloader program itself stopping.... there's nothing I (as a Downloader user) am aware of that stops you downloading data from ADVFN, Eoddata and so on and using the downloader to convert it to Metastock format.
