All that we are is the result of what we have thought. The mind is everything. What we think, we become." It's lack of faith that makes people afraid of meeting challenges, I believe in myself.Nuture your mind with great thoughts, for you will never go any higher than you think.

Have confidence that if you have done a little thing well, you can do a bigger thing well too.The confidence which we have in ourselves give birth to much of that, which we have in others. If you have no confidence in self, you are twice defeated in the race of life. With confidence, you have won even before you have started. be courteous to all, but intimate with few; and let those few be well tried before you give them your confidence.

Confidence doesn't come out of nowhere. It's a result of something... hours and days and weeks and years of constant work and dedication. Winning breeds confidence and confidence breeds winning. With confidence, you can reach truly amazing heights; without confidence, even the simplest accomplishments are beyond your grasp." You've got to take the initiative and play your game. In a decisive set, confidence is the difference.

Self-confidence and a belief in yourself is a must. To instill confidence ,you first must have confidence in yourself. If you wish to make it in trading.believe in it and proceed to translate that belief into action.. If you have determination and belief in your dreams, you will succeed in spite of your desire to let go.The winners in life think constantly in terms of I can, I will, and I am. Losers, on the other hand, concentrate their waking thoughts on what they should have or would have done, Don't let go of your dreams

Too much self confidence has been the downfall of many who eventually get the point where they believe they are incapable of being wrong. In my view it needs to be complemented by several other attributes and in particular wisdom.

Over confidence in trading if rapidly terminal.
Humility, humility, humility - we are only as good as our last few trades.
Mark Twain said something like, "In twenty years you will regret more the things you didn't do, than the things you did."
Enough - this sounds like those awful little quotes on the bottom of the pages of week to view diaries ;-)

Sorry Richard, but I have to say you are getting so incredibly cheesy

Where did you copy this heap of s*hit from matey ?

Self confidence is basically derived from beating the crap out of the opposition, stamping the opposition into the ground and enjoying it without feeling any pangs of remorse whatsoever.

And that applies to street fighting as well, as it applies to trading or any other game at all pal.

Colly waddle****e huh !!!

Sorry, Salty, I did a bit of that navel-gazing cr*p that is so popular on these boards and came up with that.
I admit I don't do the introspection stuff well - and when I do, only cheesy effluent pours forth.
I always think the world out there is much more intertesting than the world within. Is that cheesy, too?
I'll stop now.
Richard

Did you spot the Freudian slip? ;-)

Greetings Richard,

In an attempt to stem the 'cheesy effluent' I placed my cursor over your little green spot and a message oozed forth "Mr. Charts is on a distinguished road!" I then placed it on my own little green spot to find that I am an "unknown quantity!" Somewhat reassuring; could have been worse.

As for the Freudian slip? I imagine you'd look most fetching in it.

Best wishes,

Sean

The bottom line to this is We are responsible for what we are, and we wish ourselves to be, we have the power to make ourselves.win If what we are now has been the result of our past actions, it certainly follows that whatever we wish to be in future can be produced by our present actions; so we have to know how to act..The world is full of dreamers, there aren't enough who will move ahead and begin to take concrete steps to actualize their vision.Create a definite plan for carrying out your desire and begin you dont need a clever method to win trading. Just clever money management

Bollo*cks, you just need to be smarter than the other 99% and it is down to you to find out how to do it.

It helps that the first 95% are as dumb as a horse's as*s, so you are really trying to beat the 4%.

Easy man

Salty - what are you on tonight, dude?
Where do I get hold of some?

Felicitations, Sean,
Please keep your finger off my little green spot - it's only for dishy females.
I don't think readers wanted to know about you pressing your own little green spot..........
Didn't you mean "retching"?
Or was that a Freudian slip?

(Hope all is going very well with the new business - looking forward to reading Michael Winners's review :))
Best wishes,
Richard

It is all about the acquisition of "wisdom" rather than "whizzdom".
When the wisdom is mastered the whizzdom comes along later, all in its own time., which cannot be hurried.

The use of time itself is a medium that can be managed, but you have to undergo the process first. The above is for the benefit of those who really know what I am on about.

If what we are now has been the result of our past actions, it certainly follows that whatever we wish to be in future can be produced by our present actions; so we have to know how to act.

We are all, (in absolute terms), the result of our history to date and it is impossible to be anything other than that in my view.

I hear you, Socrates.
Of course, we are the product of genetics, experience, learning and our own choices, voluntary and driven.
We absorb, change and move on. Progress and development evolve also from marginal experiential factors and new ideas.
These things become part of us and we then take them for granted as being part of the whole self.
And again we move on. That is who we are.
Richard

Hello Sir, the most imporatant sentence you have written above contains only five words.

Wheareas you and I and a handful of others are willing to do this, the rest cling to what is familiar, which is not necessarily what is best for them in an environment which appears benevolent but is in fact fiercly hostile to entrenched opinions.

This is because the preservation of life mechanism in the human psyche is specifically constructed to prevent the timid to carry out what is needed instead of taking refuge in that which is perceived as comfortable or convenient. All experiences are formative. The difficulty is in disregarding this, and this is a huge obstacle that has to be surmounted.

Just be cause I click my shoes and say "I am a brain surgeon, I am a brain surgeon, I am a brain surgeon" doesn't mean anyone is going to let me slice on them tomorrow.

Confidence is the result of competency, not the cause of it. Being competent in one area gives you confidence to try learning another, even knowing the long road ahead. This ability to throw in with your whole heart and willingness to experience all that may come makes the journey pleasant.
