Hi is there anybody who used 3.5G (HSDPA) for real-time trading? What is the actual statistics? How many connection drops you experienced in an hour (say 10am-5pm)? What are max/min? How long it takes to reconnect? Could it be a blackout for 10 min/30min/hours?

I am looking for a personal experience not just theory..

Can't give you any recorded stats but i use as a backup and when I'm out & about. No drops when you get a decent signal and you are static. Forget reliable connection when moving on the train unless you're using rail co's wifi. Don't know about in the car because i normally concentrate on the motorway.

As a backup, my 3g Vodafone dongle is worth its weight in gold (literally, today!) as my ISP appears to be having problems so just plugged in Vodafone and service though slower is perfectly useable for my sort of trading but not I suggest, for scalping or rapid response type trading.
