hi board, this is my first post and am newbie. only starting started to trade like a year ago. ive opened my account with capitalspreads and i like to play shorts. have made decent but small gains during the banking crisis. my question was that every morning i see that the uk and us indies ethier jump very high or drop very low during opening -/+ 150 points sometimes. like for today 28.10.2008, the wall street open over +300. are were able to analysis if it will open up or down, from market news and other indicators? it does sound very unrealistics, but i wanted to what the experts thoughts are on this?
becuase if we could then we could potentially made real good £££`s right

Wall Street isn't open yet today. Be wary of trading when the market is not open. Wall Street is based in New York, and hence operates in their time zone. Come back in a few hours and re-assess.

Working out if a market will rise or fall is the whole idea of trading. Knowing the answer is called the Holy Grail. It doesn't exist. By all means though, look at the news and take your guess :) Just keep a tight stop-loss for when you are wrong !
