UK Real Estate or Property Index?

Guys,

I trade commodities. But interested in having data for UK Property index if there is one.

I wish to analyze this data in order to decide the right time to buy/invest in new house in UK.

Do you know if there is such UK Property index and where can I get the EOD data for this?

Have you tried googling the halifax/nationwide for this index ?

Ig index used to/perhaps still do a house price spread based on an "index" maybe you could try them too ?

I got a lot of information on Nationwide & halifax. But they only have monthly average house prices for last 5-7 years.

What I am actually looking for is not just to spread bet but actually technically analyze UK Resdidential property market. And was hoping that there is some sort of index like there are for commodities or stocks and that I could subscribe to EOD data for this as I do for futures EOD data. Intention was to analyze if the UK property market has reached its top or nearing its top.

Unfortunately I haven't succeeded in finding any sort of such index.

If anyone knows, please let me know.

Go to http://www.upmystreet.com and I think they have some connections with companies that provide house price information according to your post code. Quite good value for £19.95. Looked at it recently.

They may be able to help or do a google search.
