Hi, my name is SO Wan. I am a developer(http://www.globevestor.com) and a private investor who invest globally(https://globevesting.wordpress.com/2006/04/03/why-global-investment/). I am writing this post to gauge potential demand for a software to track global equity indices. A tracker is a tool to track performances of a few asset classes. One example is SmartMoney's Sector Tracker(http://www.smartmoney.com/sectortracker/?nav=dropTab). However I prefer visualisation of a map, e.g. ETF Map(http://www.smartmoney.com/etf/maps/?nav=dropTab). At the moment, I monitor global equity indices by visiting a few websites everyday
1. Review performances of indices at Yahoo(http://sg.finance.yahoo.com/intlindices)
2. For those indices which have extreme moves(up or down), I will visit exchange websites to find out volumes, advancing issues(if available), declining issues(if available).
This process will take at least 20 minutes depending on the number of indices with extreme move for the day. Do you think a tracker/map for global equity indices will shorten the review process? Do you need a tracker/map for global equity indices with a few technical indicators, e.g. advancing/declining issues, TRIN(http://www.investopedia.com/terms/a/arms.asp)? This tool should be useful for those who invest globally, e.g. private investors, financial advisors, fund managers. Please register your interest by participating in the poll(http://www.dPolls.com/PollPage.aspx?PollID=9039).
