hi

am beginner in day trading and need help.
would like to trade major indices, dow, nasdaq, sp500.
i've seen some really nice charts posted by people.
a lot of websites provide end of day charts but
i'm looking for realtime charts maybe 5 minute bars
and with dow realtime chart is it possible to see volume
as well ?? what tools/broker do i go with and what
does it cost montly .....

isn't volume an important piece of information?
somebody talked about sierrabrokers providing
data feed and getting a popular charting tool.
can anybody shed some light please.

I use http://www.advfn.com £15 p.m will get live indices chart. almost all the tools are available. but it's sometimes shaky.
CMC's marketmaker is a superb software. but it's based on their prices and you have to open an account with them. cheers...

i have seen advfn.com but i don't think they provide ftse100 realtime volumes or even dow realtime volumes. is it possible for anybody to give a realtime graph capture that proves me wrong ??

come on guys, sharing information doesn't hurt !

When I started a little while back I subscribed to www.quote.com which provides live Dow charts. The 1st month is free. After that it's about £7 month.

With Finspreads you can trade as little as 1p per point and start an account with £100. When you're starting out, you have to aim to lose as little as possible.

You need to define a trading plan (more info elsewhere on this site- use the search function), prove that it is profitable, and stick to it. Hope that helps.
