FTSE to close 2010 at 6000?

What do you think?
It had a go this morning before falling back, looks like it's trying again now...

6000 must be a massive psychological level, personally I'm sure we're going to close above it before year end, especially given the regular EOY effect we normally see in equities.

If it closes above 6000 this year, I'm definitely looking at a great January.

Well its only 12 points below so its more than likely it might break through when the nyse open this afternoon.hope it does since that would be a massive psychological boost for my loosing trades

My personal view is the next target 5750 or even below, ill winds floating across from China at the mo.
Will sure too scare the buyers to sellers. I am optimistic in 2011 we are still bullish & later in the year 6250 will be hit. Volatile markets ahead that is for sure. Happy New Year folks and lets keep collecting those points.

In my original post I said we'd look forward to a great January if we closed the year above 6000. As it was we didn't and I think 6000 will prove quite a psychological barrier for the next month or too.

I agree we could be in for some choppy times ahead, I can see us back at 5500 for Easter before another Q3/Q4 charge.
