Has anybody else noticed that the volatility & volume has disappeared. Why is it so dead & boring ? When will it get back to normal ??

Which markets are you talking about? EURUSD and GBPUSD both still moving around 120-200 pips a day. The Dow moved around 300 points up earlier this month, and more often than not moving around 100 points or more a day. Not exactly dead and boring.

Seems like all the action is in the overnight sessions now.

It is the end of the year & there is still a lot of movement in the indices - it's just happening overnight.

forex markets are moving overnight but equity markets volatility is really low. However, if you look at VIX futures prices you will immediately realise that many traders are expecting volatility to increase sharply during the 2 first 2 months of the 2011.

Volatility in equity markets, for the 2010 at least, ended 2 weeks later the QE2 announcement.

After the New Year is when things should pick up again. VIX calls aren't a bad idea right now.
