This is a discussion on negative EPS and negative P/E means? within the Indicators forums, part of the Technical Analysis category; when EPS and P/E ratio figs are minus figures, is that very bad? eg PE ratio -12.50 EPS -1.0...

negative EPS and negative P/E means?
when EPS and P/E ratio figs are minus figures, is that very bad?

eg PE ratio -12.50
EPS -1.0

Probably, although it may be that a company's had a bad year and written down all the assets etc like the banks/builders have done and then next year they may be back in the +.

But also they could just be crap.
