I run my year to April 5th to make tax returns easier, so it ain't over yet. I got hammered in May when I was well long the market as it turned, but done fine since.

did well, ended healthily in profit.

but, I mix trading with freelancing, so I dont know if I would have held onto some nasty drawdowns if I didnt have another income to rely on.

I suspect this Poll result may not be entirely accurate......

BTW - personally speaking - several million last year....

Was personally pleased with the end of year result, which ended at just over 63% profit on total capital.

Aye, I too had a disaster in May (i've got stains to prove it ) but a good year overall. Couldn't really fail as an equity trend follower mind.

Only just picked up on this thread - I am an amateur using pin money at present - overall 2006 was good - return on capital 58% - but that masked (as several have commented on this thread) a mare of a May which for me extended in to June and July. Realised I was over-trading. Was rescued by a 61 winning sequence in October. 2007 has also started well with returns so far standing at 20% on year to date. Hope one day to take this up professionally.

2006 was the best year I have ever had. I am very grateful for everything, not just the money.

2006 gave me an absolute spanking psychologically, but i actually feel better for it
