Feeling charitable this morning.

Saw an add in last nights Evening Standard (5th April) Business section page 5:

Trainee Oil Broker - West End Location. Please reply with CV and Covering Letter to Fax number: 020 7491 1739.

You may thing I'm having a laugh, but this is a genuine add and I thought I would lend a hand in the long quest of becoming a trader to some of you younger ones out there. Please note that this is all the information I have and that I will therefore not be able to offer any further assistance - I only saw the add in the paper.

Yep all very hush hush.......I believe many a Broker operate their recruitment in this manner (if not through an agent or word of mouth).....to prevent the opposition from gaining an insight. Also, one further obvious benefit would be the fact that any potential applicants can be binned if not up to scratch - without having to take hundreds of calls for feedback etc. With the IPE putting an end to open outcry today, perhaps they’re looking to pick up some junior talent going spare………
