Hi All,

I've been trading during the night due to my time zone for some time now and am experiencing major discomfort with my eyes. They don't exactly hurt but it feels puffed up and there is a lot of stinging, not to mention the dark circles around the eyes.

To other traders who trade at nights do you experience the same problem? What can I do to help ease my eyes to a tolerable level?

Thanks.

Are you getting enough sleep?

Make sure you have the best/highest resolution monitors that you can buy. Also, I'm guessing that you're staring at charts a lot? If they have a bright white background that can be quite damaging so maybe think about changing that to a slighty less sharp grey or something.

What age are you?

If your early to late 40's then the start of eye sight deterioration is pretty much normal.
As MrCharts has advised...go see an optician.

Sorry for my lack of precision, Tony.
He should let an optician see him.
Or even examine him.
Or even examine his eyes.
And advise him.
And he should follow the advice.

I would agree with the sleep levels and if that doesn't help, seek professional help.

As well as the advice already given, while trading make sure you can get away from the screen from time to time,as trading allows, and relax completely.

When not trading make sure you get some fresh air and daylight, and in your part of the world, presumably finding some sunlight is not a problem. (Wish we had some).

Hi qq11 I have had major probs with my eyes too. I would only recommend 2 things - keep the ambient level of light up while you're looking at your screen (i.e. keep room lights on so your eyes aren't straining to see the screen) and try to look up/around every few minutes to refocus your eyes to a different focal length. This in my experience is most important.

I recently visited an optometrist for a thorough checkup and was told that my eyes are as healthy as he's ever seen. It is purely my doing that creates the pain.

Well, in my opinion the ways to avoid such problem are the following:
1. Have enough sleep
2. Try not to strain your eyes when looking at the screen
3. Try to change the colours on the screen
4. try to replace the scrren maybe its pacement is wrong

Hope it helps

Had similar experience myself, googled for an answer and it worked for me, you must set the brightness and contrast on your screen correctly, if you don't have eye problems normally try adjusting settings first, then if it doesn't help go to an optician.

Always inspect your place if lightning is properly put in place...and take some good supplements for the health of your eyes...go for Bilberry.
