How to go about raising cash?

Hi folks.

Bit of shot in the dark, but any ideas please on who i'd approach about this? Ideally it'd be someone who knows a thing or two about the game and would "get it".

Problem: need GBP10k to get back on my day-trading feet.

The proposal: GBP10k would be split over two sb accounts and traded daily between 0700 London time and 1600 NY time until certain daily targets have been hit. Typical daily target is 3% return. Expect loss of 3-4% one day every two weeks. Accounts would be traded for 3 months with profit split 50/50 investor and trader.

Good news :) : I have developed and traded (albeit undercapitalised) a system which does this! System is not mechanised, but with specific entry/exit/money mgmnt rules. Bets are on fx spots, daily ftse and dow, and daily nymex oil. Two strategies used: a breakout/trend following one using MAs and pivots; a reversal strategy.

What i can offer is the painstaking work of sitting down and doing the trading for often many hours a day and, of course, full training in use of the system if required.

Before i approach people who know nothing about the game we all love (and, let's face it, it's not that much cash and i do look an idiot for not having the money), i was hoping for the wisdom of you folks in the know. Any ideas please?

Well if you have the system that you say you do then why not start with a smaller amount of money and compound if its that great :LOL::LOL::LOL::LOL:

That way you will have your £10k in no time.

Instead of some marketing ploy here to russell up interest in order to sell your system.

Come on come clean! :p

Well, Xeno, touchee and fair comment. Lots of abuse anticipated. But please note i certainly do not want to sell this system as such. It's because i want to jump start the thing, rather than sitting for hours continuing to build up funds very slowly, that i'm looking for an investor who knows a thing about trading and might have their curiosity piqued. Am being quite honest but, as i say, mucho abuse anticipated (and no doubt deserved...).

with regard to this thread, i would suggest it stays open for discussion purposes for the time being. needless to say under no circumstances should anyone be daft enough to actually fall for any of this. chief concern being that Marge Inkle's public profile reads GB location, which in actual fact is not where Marge is located.

i think we used to call these threads t2w sport

Wow. Again, fair comment. Am based in UK but spending time in Spain. Back in Blighty on Sunday pm and will post.

Would it be a better exercise if i were to actually forget that i'm the one looking for some funding for something that i have absolute faith in :| and perhaps ask for input please on how a hypothetical person would go about approching people about this? Again, any suggestions would be most appreciated.

Marge I'm certainly not giving you abuse dude that’s not my style.

Your post just comes across as being some scheming sales primer in order to drum up interest in your system before hitting them with the punch line. And to me that just gets the alarm bells ringing.

I don’t have a problem with vendors or marketers if they come clean from the start.

Also I’m not the one being touché, you are because you have been found out on your first post!:LOL::LOL::LOL::LOL::LOL::p:p:p:p:p:p:p:clap:

You say 'get back on my day trading feet'. Doesn't really inspire confidence that you have a decent track record. If I was thinking of investing, I'd want reassuring you weren't just a wannabe who'd blown up their trading account.

50 / 50 split not really attractive either if you're not taking any risk yourself.
 
There would be a way to make this work perfectly simply.
You don't need to have control of the money side ( accounts ) you could simply have access to another traders accounts.
The onus is then shifted for them to pay you out of profits...lets say 1 month in arrears.

This would be much more acceptable then posting begging letters in the forums. :)

He's been too busy writing his amazing system and plotting his marketing to be trading!


Of course I'm in the habit of handing some chump £10,000 who clearly has not been trading for some time EVEN if at all.

But with his great system you would expect this dude to have some doe already or even have the basic ability to compound.

How about trying your hand at obtaining a bank loan?
 
I have $3.5m USD (3 MILLION 5 HUNDRED THOUSAND US DOLLARS) which I would be willing to invest after my father the late Alhaji Wada Nas was assassinated by the Nigerian Government. He was the Special Duties Minister Of Nigeria And Also The Chairman Of The Conference Of Nigerian Political Parties (CNPP). The money is Kept In A Financial Security Company And He Directed Me To Transfer This Money To A Foreign Account Before The Government Knows Of It. My Mother And I Are Left With No Other Option Than To Invest This Money Outside The Country Where It Will Be Safe.

I regret that I will be unable to advance you the sum you require and of course I am sorry to have to miss out on such an excellent proposal. Nonetheless, I am delighted to have been of use in giving you at least some of what you deserve.
