Okay right now I am still paper trading and no way ready for real money. But I would still like to know if the following is possible in trading system software on the market.

What I would like to know is, once I integrate a broker account with the trading system software. Can I basically set it up so that I can tell the software to determine how many shares I want to buy and at one price?

Okay I am having a little trouble explaining the above clearly...Basically I am currently day trading in a stock simulator. This simulator has a field where you can enter a price figure and then set a price per share and press convert which would tell you how many shares you can buy with that price amount. I would like to know if you can do this in real life in a system trading platform? But also to be able to enter a field and let the platform also work out how many shares it could buy automatically with say $2,500 So instead of me having to enter the shares, I would just enter how much I want to spend and let the trading platform work out how many shares that will be, based on a limit price I set, or based on the software finding out the best limit price itself and then execute the order. So this would really save time when determining how many shares you could get for your buck. Is there any kind of trading system software like this on the market and how much would it cost?

Any help much appreciated

Many thanks in advance

You can buy a number of shares or spend an amount on shares but in both cases you usually have to specify number of shares or amount.

If you want the system to automatically decide how many shares to buy - then you are assuming the system will know the criteria by which you make that decision.

You can set up a custom indicator on most platforms and with this you program it to display on a chart/matrix the number of shares to buy according to your criteria. This will save you having to calculate the number but probably not save you from having to key it in.
