Hi

I leave in the UK but I trade US stocks with Charles Schwab. I do not trade UK stocks beacuse is very hard to find info and so on. Anyway the problem is that they do not give me any margin beacuse of UK regulations, they say that my experience is ok knowledge is ok but Net worth is not ok so I can not have margin, my net worth which is 27000 and they told me that it has to be a lot bigger to give me margin.

The problem is that if I do not have margin I can not go short and every time that I trade I have to wait 3 days for the settlement which is a pain in the ...............

Please let me know what you think and please dont just say change broker

Trade index futures such as FTSE, Eurostoxxx etc. Margin is about $500 per contract so more than enough leverage.

I see that you leave in the UK can you recommend a futures broker with cheap commsions etc

you know the requirements?

Well with Global there is no minimum account size although of course you cant trade with $0 in your account. I think their margin requirements are between $300 and $500 per contract for the commonly traded indices. I think you'd be safer with $1000 in your account for every contract you want to trade but you can do it with less. Commissions vary depending on how much you trade but are in the $3 a round trip bracket, less if you trade a lot. Check them out, they are available on live chat on their website

You know if it does matter if you are in the UK since when openning equities account not all us brokers give you the option

It doesnt matter for a futures account, dont know about equities as I dont trade them.

I have to look more into them but so far from the ones that you gave me globalfutures is the one that provides you with more things but I will look more into it

Global Futures, Velocity Futures and Amp Futures to name a few.

I have a closer look to the brokers that you mention I still think that the best one is Global Futures, what do you think? where can I search for more forex and futures brokers or you really think that the ones you provided are the best ones

thanks
