I-Pad, anyone used it for trading?

B

Black Swan

Anyone getting in the Q to buy one from Currys etc. when released?

Boys and their toys ....

:p

LOL I'm open minded tbh, love my 'ickle netbook, can monitor/close trades from my HTC so covered when out etc. but just like the look of the I-Pad although it doesn't support flash which could be a problem and it doesn't multi task so if you're on IG's platform can you have pro real time up and numerous other apps running? Can you even take a trade off it, over and above what you could do on a smartphone?

Am I also right in thinking no camera, poor wi-fi connectivity, no USB?

Personally I can't see any reason to own an iPad other than vanity - "look at me" types, etc... but then again I think that about most of Apple's products

My (grown up) son likes his toys, although is fairly hard-headed and doesn't usually fall for hype.

He's just got himself a Blackberry and loves it; says I should get one.

Any fans here?

it's also fecking massive. you'll look even more like a prize piece with that tucked under your arm. all you'll need is a daf jacket, a heaxagonal pit and a loud voice and you're on the exchange.

The damn shame about apple products is that MT4 doesnt work on them, not even on the full size imac.
FXPRO has an app for the iphone which is better than nothing, probably will be for the ipad too. I only use it to monitor open positions on the move, analysis is too fiddly.
I just got the iphone a week or so ago - good as a gadget but tries to be all things therefore doesnt excel as any, music player, camera or phone. My 2 yr old likes the apps thats the best of it. And battery charge life is sh*t

That's funny. Yesterday I mention "Bl@ckb€rry" in a posting, and today I get a T2W partner offer to "Trade CFDs on your Bl@ckB€rry with Crapwest".

Things that make you go "hmmm...".

Guess that's what pays for the bandwidth.

It's when it was in your private messages that you have to start going "hey!"

Keystroke trackers ftw!!!

Oh, and the iPad should be renamed iStupid.

HP came out with the same thing in a much better package 7 years ago.

Hi Black Swan

My hubby got one on pre-order and it is fab! I use my iPhone for checking trades, tradeinterceptor app for charts, can check IG but not able to place trades yet unfortunately, started using FxPro app on demo as can place pending orders with them. The advantage with using the same apps on the ipad would be much clearer charts as can be quite difficult to see bigger picture on iPhone sceen.

I'll have a go with it and may end up "borrowing" it from him!

Oh, and as for not wanting to appear vain, what a non-argument! Not much different from getting a notebook or laptop out in public. Couldn't care less what people think, if I can trade effectively on the go and not be chained to the house, happy days :)

Each to their own I suppose, big fan here though!

Julie :)

Well bless my soul and whiskers. This is the first time I've joined the congregation at the Church of Apple for a new product launch. I've watched all the past ones, downloaded the Quicktime movies and marvelled as Apple's leader has stood before an ovating faithful and announced the switch to Intel, the birth of iPod, the miniMac, the iTunes Store, OS X, iPhoto, the swan's-neck iMac, the Shuffle, Apple retail stores, the iPhone, the titanium Powerbook, Garageband, the App Store and so much more. But this time I finally made it. I went to San Francisco for the launch of the iPad. Oh, happy man.

Inevitably Stephen Fry, probably Apple's most famous fan, was there. He already owns an iPad but said he was "completing the circle", having been in San Francisco when Apple chief executive Steve Jobs announced the device in January, and present at the US launch last month.

"There's a camaraderie among Apple users, particularly long-serving ones – we remember in 1997 when we were being laughed at and told we would only get spare parts in hobby shops because the company was absolutely on the floor," Fry said, as he emerged sweating from the frenzied in-store atmosphere.

"I'm sure a lot of people will mock it as being some sort of pseudo-religious or cult atmosphere, but it's just genuine enthusiasm."

"Just think of it as like if Lady Gaga were releasing a new album in a record store in New York and the frenzy there'd be – it's a cultural event rather than a technical one because the nature of the iPad is cultural rather than technological.

Jesus H. Christ....I mean I like the guy, but was a lovey ever so dovey?

My friend has one and it's really amazing. If your an Apple fan, which I am, you will love this thing.
