Has anyone read any of Malcolm Pryor's books or watched his DVD?

I am at a beginner stage with spread betting. Basically I fully understand spread betting, some basic technical analysis and trends but I lack what I guess is the most important aspect, a trading strategy.

Im not looking for a book which will tell me how to get rich quick with spread betting but rather one which will provide me with some good solid strategies which I can use to hopefully make some money.

He (Malcolm Pryor) has a few books out but the only place I can seem to find reviews on them is on Amazon. Most of these reviews are good but I thought it would be better to come to this forum where I may be able to get some reviews from serious traders, preferably spread bettors. I am particularly interested in his book 'Winning Spread Betting Strategies' as this outlines I believe 7 strategies which I could possibly use to trade.

I am also interested in his DVD 'Malcolm Pryor on Short Term Spread Betting' but at around £200 I do not really want to commit to buy unless I can be sure it will pay for itself with successfuly strategies.

I read his book Winning Spread betting strategies, I'd recommend it. It's very precisely presented and gives you ideas on how to approach different types of market conditions.

However, there are other good trading books out there. "Trade your way to financial freedom" by Van Tharp or "Come into my trading room" by Elder, check those out as well.

I think if you're just starting out, you should read as many (recommended) books as possible. £50 spent on a book might save you a lot more when it comes to putting real money on the line.

His main one - Beginner's Guide to SB or whatever it's called - is ok as a general outline and introduction to spreadbetting. But don't pay any attention to the strategies in it.

I read the financial spread betting handbook by Malcolm pryor which is a good starting point. however I would also suggest you read trading in the zone my mark Douglas which is all about the phycology of trading which I found very good indeed as I have been told before trading is 90% psychological 10% strategy

Books I have done so far which I would highly recommend

Financial spread betting handbook by Malcolm pryor
The way of the turtle by Curtis faith
Trading the the zone my mark Douglas
Technical analysis for dummies by barbera Rockefeller

I read "The Financial Spread Betting Handbook" too and its ok but doesn't outline specific rules for a trading strategy. I mean, it tells you a few strategies and shows you a few brilliant hindsight examples but it doesn't give you those specific entry and exit rules that will help you become profitable. Its a bit vague in that respect. I don't know about his other books.
