I need to learn more about regression. Are there any particularly good books that would be pertinent to traders?

Any book on econometrics will be a helpful read... You can try Gujarati's "Basic Econometrics", which is my particular favorite.

What, as in you go under hypnosis, go back a few lives and discover you're a cokerney chimney sweep?

Not me mate I was Joe DiMaggio...Arabian was Marilyn...:-0

I ****ed you good and proper, didn't I

P.S. If anyone gives a ****, regression in *that* sense is a load of old ********, any half decent hypnotist with the right subject can make any ****er julius ****ing caesar.

I think I am swearing a bit. Must have had more to drink than I thoughtl.

had too much sugar today, little man?

Did a cold reading course... my lovely mother ain't a hypnotist as a job but she's qualified as one for lulz and ****... combine the two I could probably have a go at doing a regression with a few practices. But it would of course be ********, like they all are.

Oh, for cold reading, as a general link: http://www.ianrowland.com/ - chap who taught (amongst others) Derren Brown how to do it.

Strongly recommended. The book is dirt cheap and has masses of references worth reading, and if you get more interested and go on the course you will meet all kinds of interesting folk (as one has to have reasonably esoteric interests to be drawn towards it in the first place after all)... learn the real truth about uri geller for instance (ok the real truth on one level i.e. is he really psychic is pretty obvious but some of the other stuff is pretty subtle... he certainly isn't outside of the magic fraternity whatever randi may be saying...)

Has this forum degenerated into an asylum?

Edgetrading, looks like your thread got squatted by some hairy bikers :jester:

I actually saw a recommendation for a good, easy to understand statistics book here on this forum but I didn't bookmark it and I couldn't find it when I last looked for it.

Anyway presumably you mean you need to do some linear regression to estimate a future price? I don't think you need a book for that - it should be in wikipedia.
