Hi Just had this sent to me,

http://tradingclubs.co.uk/web/

it sounds great but I don't have enough experience to pick holes in it, so I am asking do you think it will be all it claims or is it just another fantastic claim that will achieve very little.

I get lots of mazing offers like this claiming all sorts, all the time, as we all do I suppose, but I am always hoping that one day one of them will actually be workable.

This one makes it look like you could do it even if you only had one brain cell and shared it. "All you have to be able to do is send emails" etc etc.

Any input appreciated.

Well, brief look.... it says its not trading, its a sales business.
If your here to learn to trade then this is not the thing.

Of course there is money to be made from screwing people out of their money, there is a never ending stream of chumps quite willing to be robbed.

But instead of setting up a signals website why don't you just go and mug people in the street, it's more of an adrenaline rush and you have the joy of seeing your victims suffer directly rather than just getting off on imagining them suffer.

this type of sell always reminds me of that Simpsons episode - I married Marge.. "it's not pyramid selling, it's the trapezoid system.." eat my shorts suckers

Seminar speaker:

"First, let me assure you that this is not one of those shady pyramid schemes you've been hearing about. No sir. Our model is the trapezoid scheme, guaranteed to give you an eight-hundred percent return...." (sirens are heard, and he jumps out the window)

If i had a trading system that could bring in these types of returns why on earth would I make my living selling the system.. i would sell my house/wife/kids.. leverage it all up 200% and make a killing!.. you have to be cynical in this game.. learn for yourself by trading with a small pot of cash.. run stop losses so you dont go broke.. eventually after many losses you will develop a system you are happy with.. promoting a tipping service like this will make you plenty of enemies.. lose and learn is my advice!

System sellers, signal providers, coaches, trainers etc etc are all the same, they are all trying to cash in on the mug punter. Yes, i actually put the so called 'instructors' into the same catagory as the 'snake oil' sales types, these are not professional instructors in the main. These are unqualified types that like to refer to themselves as instructors, most of these types are only self taught traders and have no real credentials. They are mainly unregulated and are not members of any professional bodies or associations that overlook trading as a business.

Ok guys, I am a bit of an amateur at investing and I am still learning but I get the message I will avoid this like the plague, many thanks for all the inputs.

Keep on track

Good idea - and thanks for running this past the forum.

But don't give up your enquiring mind, HappyHero. Remember T A Edison and the anecdotal 1000 failures before he finally found a successful model of a light-bulb that worked?

He is credited with this statement:

"Hell, there are no rules here, we're trying to accomplish something."

and this:

"Genius is one percent inspiration and ninety-nine percent perspiration."

There are an incredible number of sites on the Internet today - many of them just clones/copies of the same thing, trying and vying for our business and our money. What you have done is come across something that interests you, and you have asked more experienced folk for their opinions. That's commendable and wise imho.

On this occasion you found that the consensus recommends against venturing in this direction.

But next time?

My message is this: "Don't give up your search."

It was through searching that I discovered trading.
And through searching I discovered a couple of methods I like (and am in the process of trying to master).

Instead of this thread now going into the archives, I hope readers will use it to share similar experiences with other both shonky AND great sites and programmes they have discovered. I am sure such things are discussed elsewhere - but things change daily, so why not ask the question:

"Is this likely to be any good? What do you think?" and apply it to other ideas and sites that are springing up.

Best wishes

Ivan

PS ... a few for the road:

“Opportunity is missed by most people because it is dressed in overalls and looks like work.”

“I haven't failed, I've found 10,000 ways that don't work.”

“Good fortune is what happens when opportunity meets with planning.”

Ok thanks, I will ask one further question if thats ok then, I see many services offered and do not know if any of them are any good, so is there a service out there that anybody has found to give consistantly good results, possibly as tips or something similar, something that you could follow and do reasonably well over a period?

That's a fair question HH - but again it will have many answers for you.

So much depends on your own risk profile - whether you can take a loss of 60-100 pips before seeing a trade come into profit, and not get white knuckles.
Or whether your personality is better suited to the faster action of scalping.

And could you be happy trading equities, or currencies or CFD's?

It's something you have to trial for yourself. I am not sure how much experience you have had already, but sometimes it is good to find a good thread on a forum like this, and read it until you understand the method, and then attempt your first trades on demo. Some say to demo for a few months, until consistently profitable.

Others say you should put some live cash right up front, in order to learn from the commitment. I favour demo first, then real money. Otherwise, you might as well fund an account and be willing to sacrifice it bit by bit as an apprenticeship. I wouldn't.

Do a search for Trader_Dante on this forum, and learn to trade his way first.

You won't go too far wrong.

It takes a few years to be able to trade profitably and consistently, though it is hard to convince new traders that this is so. Just tread warily, is all.

I am currently expanding a thread on a commercial system here:

http://www.trade2win.com/boards/commercial-systems/65072-forex-profit-monster-4h-tf.html

and the Trader_Dante thread is here:

http://www.trade2win.com/boards/first-steps/26947-making-money-trading.html

Either of those would benefit you even if purely to see the struggles other traders face. But the T_D thread is a ripper.

I do not recommend using a service atm for you, unless you have quite a bit of experience under your belt. The service may be spot-on, but you will not know when to take profits, or cut losses, even if you had the very best service available. Only experience can give this to you.

Stick around and ask questions. The forum is good to newbies who show they are serious about learning. Get involved in a discussion, and try to get a feel for trading through what you are seeing and feeling with others.

Best wishes

Ivan

You need to learn how to trade yourself, it's a hard road to walk, and for most impossible, but there is a pot of gold at the end of it for the intrepid few.

You have to be joking. Screwing people you don't know is much better. The institutions have always done that and they are the experts.

It's much easier on the conscience to rob the pension fund than to snatch that old lady's handbag. She might be useful with her umbrella!

Do you have any problem pocketing a 50 point drop in Footsie, even though a Pension fund might have lost its shirt? I'm sure that I don't!. I'd push the boat out.

If your conscience pricks you when trading, it means that you are winning. I like that!

Remember. They'd do the same to you.

Tipping services will just lead you to ruin I am afraid. One piece of adice I would give you though..
If you ever decide to follow anybodys trading reccomendation make sure you decide exactly how much money you are prepared to lose on the trade before you put it on .. then place your own stop loss (guaranteed stop loss would be best) and stick to that stop loss.. tipping services never seem to tell you to cut your losses and you would lose all your trading capital if you were to wait for them to do so. the only TIPS that are guaranteed to make you money are illigal!!

Try Bernie Madoff signal services for Nasdaq stocks.

High returns ,reputable Nasdaq chairman and proven track record.Several years of 10 % per annum returns.

What more do need from a signal service?
