I have just gone through my trade log for the last 3 months, and it appears that I would have been almost £7k better off, had I just sat aside and not traded on Fridays. Do any day traders here tend not to open new positions on a friday? Is it ture that markets and be slightly more chaotic on friday due to people/funds/companies just closing positions?

I'l take trades right up 'til Fri eve. close...I do feel tired of the screen time usually by Friday, which makes me miss set ups on ocassion, not today though spent a refreshing day in the lakes yesterday

I don't trade Friday. What's the point? It's not just that I find Fridays to be more choppy, but it's also phycological. I'd hate to lose some of my weeks winnings when I could have just taken the day off. Plus then you get a 3 day weekend! :)

However I will monitor open positions, but close before the end of the day.

I changed last month to trade friday's if set-ups popped up instead of being unnecessarily friday-stitious. First set-up happened last Friday night just before US market closed and I thought to myself of cr@p. Markets re-opened monday, left it to run until tuesday and took a nice profit.

I think Fridayness' is more about whether you can be arsed more than anything else and any excuse not to will do.
