JUst thought i'd start a thread on the new Windows 7 that is due to be released
in the next few weeks. Does anyone think it will be better than that crap Vista
they brought out last time. Ive heard it will be 64 bit so should run a lot quicker.

I know someone who who has been testing it (independently from msft) and he says its a big improvement on Vista.

After years of Windows and PC....I have moved over to Mac full hog.....

Windows 7 reviews on PC Pro do not rate it any better in fact at times it is slower than Vista....And vista was crap....

Windowes 7 is slow....And it looks like OX Snow Leopard...!

I will use XP to ground and then call it a day...

But windows owners will have no choice but to get it...Probably after SP 3 is released...But then by that time they will bring out Windows 8..!!

Zambuck,
I'm a mac user too, but as have to use my pc laptop thingy for trading, MT4 etc don't work on my mac.

...Yes and that has been a worry to me as well...But I have few laptops that still use XP and Vista Ultimate etc....But I hope when end is nigh people will provide Mac versions of software....And it does appear that Mac is growing in popularity so versions will follow....I hope...!

Rock solid OS, better user interface and faster than Vista. I switched over more than a month ago when they released Windows 7 (not to the public, but developers have access to it earlier). Works really like a charm.

Nice fringe benefit: Support for most video codecs from the start (including divx). So far my installed codec count for actually watching trading videos ;)( is zero ;) All worked out of the box.

agreed. it's robust, quick and I like it.

There was trouble with the first video I tried to run (mp4). and there's trouble supporting subtitles other than eglish. but I use VLC and all's well.

all in all - a great OS.

Yes business contact of mine has been trialling it for a year - Apparently massive improvement on Vista

Vista is so bad they're offering free upgrades to windows 7 (for recent purchases)

I've already had it on my PC since half August (legally).

I'm pleasantly surprised that it's so smooth and it's reasonable fast too.
I never liked vista, so I switched over from XP on my desktop. Everything works like a charm, except older hardware can be a problem for support.

For example: my old Soundblaster Live! 5.1 is no longer supported...

Apart from that: no complaints so far and rock solid!
