If the Irish vote yes to the Lisbon treaty today do you think Britain will join the Euro? Personally I am a Euro sceptic perhaps even septic. I notice Tony Blair is lined up to become the first President, did he not promise a referendum on Europe or was that the current idiot Brown?

On the trading front if the Irish vote no will the Euro colapse if a yes vote will it sky rocket? It is currently in an uptrend retracement and on the bullish side of the 50% retracement, the 78% level is 0.9500 exactly.

I think it has little bearing on UK. Politically at the moment that is a headache Brown doesn't need, as the will amongst the public at grass roots level simply isn't there, and he has zero clout / goodwill right now.

In terms of market reaction I think it's assymetric and and downside skewed.

Politically at this time you may be right, however Brown is a dictator and really not very politically astute, he would not think twice about selling the UK down the river if it meant he could join the European gravy train in the near future. The Conservatives don't have much of a clue either.

As for the markets we should know today, Monday at the latest.
