Is that information still current? I can't find any information about it on the fscs website.

Yes, in fact because it's largely government backed - your deposits are safer at NR than other banks/building societies that are not largely owned by your tax £s.

Without being disrespectful if you didn't know that Northern Rock had been nationalised then perhaps a trading forum is not for you! Even the Northern Rock website mentions it. So Northern Rock is as safe as the UK government, which actually these days is not saying very much.
