I am coming around to the conclusion that many spread betters have decided they are deeply unhappy with their life's accomplishments, particularly financially but also in terms of their achievements in other fields (e.g. career) and are looking for one of the few plausible fixes, namely spread betting.

Unfortunately most of them are doomed as they do not have the talent.

What say ye?

You must be speaking for yourself!

I really dislike spreadbetting. I use to go crazy when they gave me slippage, it was just ridiculous.

Yes mate. I had to sell my last two Harleys to re-fund after my latest account blow-up.

SB works ok for me - but then I got my mid-life crisis out of the way many years ago. I suspect that if people can't crack SB-ing then they'll probably screw up any other way also. Workmen? tools? etc ???

It's possible to have more than one mid-life-crisis.

I suppose we ought to define "mid-life crisis" - I think mine was when I realised that you make your own life.

I don't know about deeply unhappy. Most people are just bored of the same routine, after 10-20 years of work especially in an office job, it becomes ground hog day.

Trading provides excitement and the potential for unlimited earnings. I think its perfectly normal to dream about making a fortune from the markets. Its worth a go, you never really know until you give it your best shot.

Its the people who have no interest in it all, the completely risk averse types, they are the ones who always looked a bit strange to me.
