Hi

am relatively new to trading - am reading some good literature after realising to my cost that trading is quite er, complicated including the Financial Spread Betting hand book - the methods seem quite straight forward - basically the author asserts that by getting a list of stocks with a high RSI & ADX reading potential targets can be drawn up ... Apart from going through 1000's of charts, does anyone know of a method to derive this data say from a (hopefully) free download ?
Grateful for any tips - back to scanning 100's of charts ;-(

Hi pleaper,

i have had a look for free ADX scans too and had no luck.

I have just signed up to sharescope £32 monthly and £80 membership. In sharescope you can sort by the "ADX" sharescript to bring up a list of stocks that fulfil your ADX criteria in any given index of stocks.

ie you could drill down in the FTSE 100 (customisable) and bring up a list of stocks that have an ADX reading of >30 (customisable) for a 14-day period (customisable).

Thanks,
Rocko

sharescope

Sharescope is a brilliant product especially for a newbie, i was using the pro version but at £90 a month too expensive for what i need. Its screening 'data mining' capability is top notch. The downside is the downloading of data is brutally slow

Pro Realtime will do this for free if only EOD. If it's still around. Google it and see :)

basically to draw up a list of target shares that have ADX GT or LT 30 and RSI GT LT 70 for long short candidates. All markets. Am having varied success - breaking even at the moment. The ADX/RI idea comes from the "Spread Betters Handbook" thanks Peter

morning, you can still find trades with a low adx. it depends on the time frames you are using. try opening up a 1 minute chart with a 60 simple moving average on it, and vary the timeframes. Whoops sorry i thought you traded fx like myself. try
