Hello,

I have found that most traders on this forum are strict technicians/system players.

Fundamentals are what moves the market -most of the time.
Trading without an awareness of how the news effects your market is just plain ignorance.

I'm not saying that you can't do very well without an awareness of the news and the fundamentals; clearly some people do very well just trading technically.

My point is that even if you are a strict technician or an indicator junkie, an awareness of how the news and fundamentals effects your market will enhance your trading performance.

Many times technical methods will not work because they are trading against the fundamentals.

Are there any other traders who interpret the fundamentals and the news in order to make their trading decisions?

If you're talking about slapping the Bund because the BoE has announced further QE, then yes I do make decisions based on news. If you're talking about anything other than figures, as an intraday trader it would have to be pretty significant to influence me one way or another.

Not me.

I'm far too thick to work out any useful correlation between fundamentals, the news, the expectations of the news, the difference betwen the news and what was expected and the reactions of all the players in the market to the difference to what was expected and the news.

Cursed with a blinding lack of intelligence I just let the result of that hotch potch filter down to me in the guise of price action and just pretend to trade it as if nothing had happened.
