California, one of the richest economies per capita in the world is officially bust.
Arnie Scwarzeneggar has declared a fiscal state of emergency.
Apparently the State legislature is deadlocked from a duff decision in the 70s and can't raise taxes and so can't pay state employees' salaries and perks.

What affects Cali affects the USA and what affects them causes a lotta grief all over the world. So a petty problem there may cause unpleasant ripples elsewhere. Will Obama give them a bailout ? We will have to wait and see.

If they do get a bailout then it opens the doors for the rest of the states who are struggling. It will be a tough call.
 
The title of this thread is misleading.
I thought it would be much more interesting and illustrated.

Personally I think people and Govts should live within their OWN means.

Else it costs someone else to bail them out.

The cycle is already at the ridiculous level, of the bailout people being forced to need help themselves. So everyone goes bust not just the idiotic few .

Gordon Brown is wanting to give the 3rd world an extra 100 billion £s for climate control initiatives. The man is a raving looney ! He has already bankrupted Britain and is too dense to know that giving away hard earned money is not the solution.

He really MUST go and soon.

would be suicide for them not to bail out the state..

bailing out banks but not the state and people in general? i would be rioting if i was in there shoes!
 
cali should legalize weed then tax it
maybe some other drugs too
will cover the deficit easily

Should be applied in Mexico, where the drug gangs rule the border area by force and kidnapping is the only growth industry.

the one where he says; "what are you waiting for?" Fill in your own jokes on the theme of; er to finally get paid, or to honour this I.O.U....
