Hey folk, have ANOTHER question about direct-market-access trading on the futures exchanges...
I notice people talking about bunds and Eurostoxx, T-bills and 30-year notes...Or something similar...
I was wondering, out of kindness, if anyone could offer an explanation to what these markets are and also provide me with a list of highly liquid futures markets that are popularly traded.
To name a few that i'm currently looking at...
E-mini S&P500, mini-dow, FTSE100 (Z), Dax (FDAX), Electronic Wheat (ZW)

What other highly liquid futures are their?
I'm especially intested in ones based on European time frames... Which i'm guessing Eurostoxx is? Although i have no idea what that market is!

Thanks, much appreciate all the recent help i've recieved.

ZU - 30yr bonds
TY - 10 years notes
CL - crude oil
GC - gold
GE - eurodollar

properbably the ones with most liquidity after ES

It's an interest rate, not sure you want to look at it.

Stoxx is more liquid than ES and trades european hours, it's an equity index of 50 european companies, trades on Eurex.

Eurodollar is basically 3-month libor rate, i believe.

There is the ZB on the ninjatrader demo as well, btw, which is 30 yr bond, i think, anyway appears pretty liquid, ES appears the most liquid tho looking at the sheer number of contracts on each price level...presume ur looking at which wud b easiest to make markets in?

Yup

Don a CT t-shirt, put on the NG fire, make a cup of KC, with a little CC in it & perhaps a warm LC sandwich and find out for yourself...

Hello,
Bund, Euribor and Schatz are the most liquid contracts traded in European markets after Eurodollar and ES.
:)

do some fcking research for yourself. christ.
Gooseman - Hypocrite. I did some research and found that you don't do your own research either. So STFU and stop being a hypocrite. AND, due to the fact you were being hypocritical i can only guess you were trying to be funny. You failed at that too.

"You are entering a world of pain."

hardly the same questions really mate-carry on jobbing your 1 lots on markets you know fck all about.

hi there

Bond 30 (US Benchmark 30 year Treasury Bond) is a debt obligation of the US government that is paid off after 30 years. It is considered to be a benchmark indicator of US interest rates.

When interest rates rise its market price decreases. The bond’s interest payments are fixed so a decrease in its market price means an increase in its yield. Interest payments are made every 6 months. and regarding The Dow Jones EURO STOXX 50 is a stock market index of the top 50 European stocks in EU member states which have adopted the euro. The Index is made by the companies Dow Jones and STOXX Ltd.

and I think Estoxx gonna rock as the liquid position is high for it

I don't trade markets i know nothing about - I don't know why you would assume that... Everyone has to start somewhere in understanding certain markets, i'm doing that and researching ones i'm interested in. Not trading them. I'm sorry that you weren't aware there was a difference between researching and trading...

I hope your not trying to mock the fact i trade one contract... Because you trade options on a spreadbetting account - Your pretty much the McDonalds cleaner in terms of trading heirarchy.

yes, that's right. i trade spread betting options. that's all. now excuse me, i have £1 a point short I have to attend to.....

given your past attitude is it any wonder that people can't be @rsed taking the time of day to respond to your questions throughly.

Halo - is this the first internet forum you have been a member of ?

Is your intention on this forum to be it's foremost a$$hole or to actually learn something ?

I ask because in the time it took you to review Goosemans posts you could have gone to traderpedia and found out the info you are looking for yourself.

If you want to be succesful at trading, I think you should drop all your keyboard warrior posts and focus on what's important - learning what you need to learn yourself & then filling in the gaps with the more advanced traders here.

I have done what you did in the original post on this thread- you can search back & find it if that floats your boat. Show a bit of knowledge & ask the tricky questions here and you will find the respect you gain from showing the knowledge will result in people opening up to you.

Or you could just carry on being a tw@t.

Actually the only person that looks like a tw@t is gooseman cos he just got owned. If you have a problem with people asking questions on a public internet forum then best not to use it. Let alone be so hypocritical as to actually ask questions yourself. Ok maybe you thought his questions were simple and yours are really good, but he's just a beginner remember. Maybe he prefers to research things by asking experienced traders on a public forum for traders as supposed to googling. Maybe he likes the social interaction too. Don't pick on people because they use this site to ask trading relating questions. That is what its for.

thanks for the input. look at how much of a d1ck he has mad e of himself in ther past.

Recently, you may not have noticed but i have made more of an effort to be constructive and nice to people... But then everything i wrote people would just reply sarcastically or mocking me or something like that. So i thought **** it. Back to being a tw@

For example, i make this post.... Someone says do you own ****ing research.
You call me a tw@ and Rathcoole_exile recommends your post for calling me a tw@...

What am i suppose to do? Seriously, you tell me?
