Does anyone know if there are such things as trading desks for hire which have a shared information feed to say reuters / bloomberg , computer system etc.

It may be better than getting a 12 month contract for the reuters pacakge and test it out ? I dont mind paying up to 1000 a month if there is anything available and as long as the secretaries wear above the knee skirts and the systems are available.

have you seen the staff at the trading arcades ? overweight, eat too much fast food and normally waddle instead of walking.

Meh, again any decent clearing member [I suspect those who aren't can't, but then I would always recommend people went with clearing members] arcade will do that for you...

I will give them a call. How does this work though - do you have to use their brokerage.....as I'm really happy with my broker (killing me on spreads and commissions) but i don't think there is anything much more competitive out there.

You'll probably be surprised how little they charge in commissions.

How can you even think about this, when according to the thread below you are seriously undercapitalised in your trading, and on the way to blow your account unless you employ strict money management.

Apologies if I've got the wrong end of the stick!

For information to the rest of the readers (who don't trade beer money) charges seem to be

700 - 1000 for basic desk in central london
Bloomberg / Reuters feed around 1800 more depending on what is required
Other charges including set up / training etc depending on who you speak to

So around £2,500 - £3,000 a month. Though they promise good spreads and in most cases you have to use their trading system.

Point taken on the risk management as I'm not trading beer money.

I don't understand what you mean about 'good spreads': you're going to get underlying market spreads in anything normal (or of course you can work the order and earn the spread if you wish).

Forex similarly although ask gammajamma what that actually means in the case of something like currnex because I'm not sure how meaningful that is...
