I'm entering my second week of trading a demo account with MetaTrader and feeling my way around using various strategies. I've been trying to put a 50 pip stop loss on my trades, but when enter, all I get is a message that says "Invalid"! Anyone got any clues as to what I'm doing wrong?

Maybe you need to add on a certain number of decimal points to make it valid.

ie. instead of 50 you may need 4 decimal points... so 50.0000

Just a thought although if this was the case you should be prompted to include the decimal points.

Thanks

Thanks for the advice, I'll give it a shot when the market opens on Monday.

Give a specific example of what the price was on entry and what price you were trying to set as a stop loss and what the price was at the time you were trying to set the stop loss.

Hello, can you please provide numbers or a screenshot? Normally there is no problem changing the orders to include a stop loss in MT. It is as easy as selecting "modify or delete order" and entering 50 in teh level field. Do not forget to click on the copy as field and press the big "modify" button at the bottom of the mask.
Maybe you have the wrong numberformat?
Regards

Yes I use stop loss and according to me fundamentally the stop loss mitigates a convinced gauge of peril while maximizing your venture returns. Anything that mitigates speculation risk at the same time as allowing a depositor to create potentially explosive returns is a huge thing.
